Rails to trails

The Rails to Trails Conservancy is an organization that promotes the conversion of abandoned railroad beds into tralis for bikers, skaters, hikers, runners and other recreational users. These trails make excellent bike paths because they often go through remote, out-of-the-way areas and have gradual grades.

 

Adventure Cycling

This site is where you can join the A.C.A. and has everything you need to plan your next cycling adventure. They have the best cycle touring maps and are actively involved in creating and promoting cycle routes across and up and down the whole country. They sponsor many cycling events from the grueling Great Divide Mountain bike tour from Montana to the Mexican border to shorter, easier trips in the East and the West.

The Major Taylor Association is dedicated to the fastest bicycle racer at the end of the 1800's. He would have been recognized world wide, except for the fact that he was Black. This organization seeks to give him his due!
